Small but strong!

The schematic is inspired of the original vintage microphone, based on the CK12 capsule, we decided to make the transformer less version based on the vintage C414TL which allows us to save on distortion as it is only 0.03% or less than 4% compared to a tube microphone.

C414 micandmod presentation

The electronic circuitry of this microphone has been redesigned to achieve completely linear transfer characteristics of all electrical parameters. Extremely low self-noise and high headroom add up to a dynamic range of approximately 134 dB (A-weighted) that is far superior to figures quoted for conventional condenser microphones and other studio equipment.

Our design uses high quality FET, low cut filters and a selection of polar patterns that will allow you a wide variety of creative and recording possibilities.

We also thought about mobility with the design of a quality aluminum case, ideal for your outdoor recordings or simply to preserve your microphone!

All components are carefully matched and selected in our workshop. We attach great importance to the precision of our circuits in order to be as accurate as possible compared to the original.

Excellent!

Take your time when building, if you are careful and doublechecking everything all will be fine. What you get is a beautifully sounding microphone with low noice. I am more than pleased!

It's a difficult kit to make, but it looks good.

It's a difficult kit to make, but it looks good.
The sound is like a 414 with a HI characteristic.
It's a very good response, so I'll try using it some more.
thank you.

Perfect 414!

Excellent microphone, exceeded my expectations. I like the sound better than today's AKG original! The kit is not intended for beginners, but it is not too complicated either. The instructions are very good. The sound is very natural, uniform and resolute without any harshness. The capsules are very well matched. Perfect microphone for recording acoustic instruments or voice! The polar characteristics are very uniform and the sound is always consistent. I'm recording a concert Steinway D with them next week.

Very good clone :)

I find this reproduction of the C414 really great, I find the sound I had with the original version during the 80s, it is without transformer, which is very good because the transformers distort at low frequencies and high signal levels. That is the reason why AKG came with the C414 TL at this time, replaced today by the XLII
