Our DIY handmade kit is a perfect clone of the legendary AKG C414 vintage 70’s microphone ✅ the standard for years in the recording industry and studios around the world. You have the choice in the options, either in DIY it’s you the builder or already assembled by Mic&Mod and ready to play!
With the CK12 capsule according to the original specifications, the sound of our kit is faithful to the original microphone found in the world’s largest studios.
Small but strong!
The schematic is an inspired replica of the original vintage microphone, based on the CK12 capsule, we decided to make the transformer less version based on the C414TL which allows us to save on distortion as it is only 0.03% or less than 4% compared to a tube microphone.
The electronic circuitry of this microphone has been redesigned to achieve completely linear transfer characteristics of all electrical parameters. Extremely low self-noise and high headroom add up to a dynamic range of approximately 134 dB (A-weighted) that is far superior to figures quoted for conventional condenser microphones and other studio equipment.
Our design uses high quality FET, low cut filters and a selection of polar patterns that will allow you a wide variety of creative and recording possibilities.
We also thought about mobility with the design of a quality aluminum case, ideal for your outdoor recordings or simply to preserve your microphone!
All components are carefully matched and selected in our workshop. We attach great importance to the precision of our circuits in order to be as accurate as possible compared to the original.

" Le C414 est vraiment le microphone le plus polyvalent, utilisé aussi bien sur des voix que des instruments comme la batterie, c'est un microphone à posséder, en plus il s'emporte partout avec sa petite taille "
"Owning the C414 has always been one of my biggest dreams and thanks to you this has now come true, a thousand thanks for this fabulous kit and the price is not expensive for this quality! "
"I find this reproduction of the C414 really great, I find the sound I had with the original version during the 80s, it is without transformer which is very good because the transformers distort at low frequencies and high signal levels. That is the reason why AKG came with the C414 TL at this time, replaced today by the XLII"
